The VDS Group consists of three independent companies. VDS Getriebe GmbH and VDS Driveline GmbH are embedded under the umbrella of VDS Holding GmbH.

VDS Getriebe GmbH specializes in the development of innovative drive systems and offers comprehensive engineering services. A team of specialists with many years of experience in conception, calculation, design, testing and transmission and vehicle control covers the entire product development process from the recording and description of requirements to series production.

VDS Driveline GmbH focuses on the series production of gearboxes and complex drive systems in small and medium quantities. Many years of cooperation with manufacturing partners have created the basis for producing transmissions at competitive prices, even for niche applications with high quality and reliability requirements.
As a globally active high-tech group of companies, we offer our customers from a wide range of industries and application areas customized solutions for tractors, work machines, municipal vehicles and off-road vehicles.

Since our foundation in 2009, we at VDS Getriebe have continuously driven innovation and achieved impressive milestones. Here is a look at our most significant achievements:

 

2025: Start of series production of sprayers with VTP1750 stepless gearbox.

2024: Presentation of municipal vehicle with VDS power split transmission VTP450 at IFAT Munich trade fair.

2023: Presentation of the VDS VMG1700 power split gearbox at Agritechnica Hanover.

2022: Start of series production of VTP gearboxes for Pfanzelt PM Trac.

2021: Start of series production of electric axle drive eAD160 for Bucher CityCat V20e sweeper.

2020: Development of stepless tractor engines VTP1100 and VTP1400 for power classes up to 340 hp.

2019: Start of series production of VTP continuously variable transmissions for the SynTrac carrier vehicle

2018: Start of series production of sweepers in the USA on truck chassis with Variable Power Divider VPD2500.
Elimination of the auxiliary engine to drive the sweeping units.

2017: Reorganization of VDS Getriebe GmbH into VDS Holding GmbH and VDS Driveline GmbH.
VDS Driveline GmbH specializes in the series production of transmission systems, VDS Getriebe GmbH focuses on
development activities.
The McCormick X6-VT drive tractor with VDS continuously variable transmission VTP450 is voted “Tractor of the Year” in the “Utility Tractors” class.

2016: Sales launch of McCormick tractors with VTP450 continuously variable transmission.

2015: Conversion of off-road vehicles to VTP450 continuously variable transmissions and performance of practical tests.

2014: Start of series production of supply pumps and gearbox assemblies.

2013: VDS has its own stand at Agritechnica in Hanover.
The AEBI VT450 Vario transporter receives the “Tractor of the Year” award in the “Specialized” class.

2012: Presentation of the AEBI VT450 Vario transporter with VTP450 continuously variable transmission at the AGRAMA trade fair in Bern.

2011: Winner of the Austrian “Young Entrepreneur Award” in the export category.

2010: Start of development of the continuously variable transmission for the AEBI VT450 Vario van.
The company moves to new premises in Wolfern, Gewerbepark 6. Expansion of expertise to include the areas of
prototype construction, testing and measurement technology and software development.

2009: Foundation of VDS Getriebe GmbH at the Steyr site. Start of calculation and design activities.
Registration of property rights for the VTP power split gearbox.
