Axle drives electric
The use of high-speed electric motors enables high power densities with low weight.
VDS has developed the eAD series for use in electric work machines or transport vehicles, which can be used up to an input power of 90 kW and a maximum input torque of 160 Nm. The gearbox is designed for input speeds of up to 13000 rpm.
A planetary gearbox with a high transmission ratio and a spring-loaded parking brake is located at the gearbox input. A noise-optimized bevel drive and a Torsen differential provide the connection to the flange shafts to the wheels and ensure low gearbox weight, low noise emissions and optimum efficiency.
Different gear ratios are available for the use of electric motors with lower maximum speeds.
